The Meyerowitz Stories is a 2017 American comedy-drama film.
It stars Emma Thompson, Dustin Hoffman, Ben Stiller and Adam Sandler and focuses on a dysfunctional family. For various reasons they are forced to live in close contact and the plot is based on the construction of Hoffman’s patriarch figure, Harold.
Emma plays Maureen, Harold’s alcoholic bohemian wife.
According to her, the success of the film is due to the fact that almost all of the characters suffer from shame, for many reasons they are all ashamed so the common people can identify themselves with the film’s characters.
That’s terrific! The movie is fun and moving at the same time.
Critics rated the film positively especially for the cast of actors of the highest level.
